Leading UK business school Bradford University School of Management is launching two new MScs starting in January 2012 to appeal to graduates wanting to start their own businesses or who want to work in companies focusing on sustainability.

The School expects the new MSc in Applied Management and Entrepreneurship and the MSc in Applied Management and Sustainability to appeal to recent graduates from both the UK and internationally.

“The new degrees reflect the School’s flexible approach in listening to both graduates and employers about the management skills needed globally, particularly around entrepreneurship and low carbon economies,” explained course leader Professor Kevin Barber.  “We expect the option to start in January to be very attractive to students who graduated this summer and who are still considering their career options.  Also, to graduates already in employment who want to move into areas of business that will be increasingly important to economic success and social cohesion.

“The MSc in Applied Management and Sustainability is linked closely to the School’s plans to develop a Sustainable Enterprise Centre and to appoint a Professor in Sustainability. It fits well with the university’s Ecoversity status and reflects a university wide focus on defining the businesses of the future.

“Entrepreneurship is a popular module in existing MSc and MBA programmes.  This bespoke masters’ programme will give students the academic and practical skills they need to turn a good business idea into a sustainable reality. This degree encourages young people to pursue their own ideas and gives them the tools they will need to turn them into viable businesses”

Applicants from the UK or EU can take advantage of the School of Management scholarship scheme which enables students to benefit from up to £2,000 off the cost of their studies; in addition, Bradford graduates achieving a 2(i) or higher in their undergraduate degree can benefit from loyalty discounts of up to 20% off their fees.
