This is an exciting time of growth and evolution for the district and BPH has a core role to play in the delivery of Bradford City of Culture 2025.

Job Description

Bradford Producing Hub Ltd (BPH) is a recently incorporated Company Limited by Guarantee. We are looking for a Chair of the Board, as well as up to 4 new Board Members, who, on registration with the Charity Commission, will become Trustees of the Charity.

BPH is a major cultural development organisation for Bradford and the region. By carefully listening to the needs of the sector we have built a range of exciting, impactful, schemes and initiatives that support individuals and organisations develop the skills, networks, and opportunities they need to achieve their creative potential.

This is a really exciting time to join BPH – not only will you be one of the founding Board members of the new company, but you will be here to guide it through a vital period in its growth. You will support our role as Capacity Building Partner for Bradford 2025 City of Culture; developing the district’s creative talents and laying the foundation for an enduring and viable legacy to the City of Culture year.

Job Requirements

The role of Board Member, and once the organisation reaches charity status, Trustee, is an unpaid, voluntary position. Trustees are appointed for a period of 3 years renewable for a further three by the existing Board. BPH Ltd. has a maximum of 12 trustee positions, and the Company aims to ensure a range of relevant skills and a diversity of backgrounds.

In the true essence of BPH talent development, Board experience is not essential as full training will be provided by the Chair of the board.

Though not essential, we particularly welcome applications from people with relevant knowledge and experience in:

  • Funding and finance
  • HR
  • Skills and talent development
  • Visual Arts
  • Marketing and PR

Job Responsibilities

  • Controlling the management and administration of the charity.
  • Achievement of the company’s charitable objectives and effective business planning.
  • The safe and legal operations of the organisation. Major decisions as to projects, finance and employment are discussed and agreed at Board level. The trustees approve the management accounts on a quarterly basis and the audited. accounts annually.
  • Regular attendance at board meetings which will take place roughly every 3 months, but may be more frequent at certain times (such as during the current transition period).
  • Trustees will undertake actions to support the team and consider relevant matters on an ‘as needed’ basis, and may set up sub-committees to achieve this.

Bradford Producing Hub aims to make sure Bradford is a creative city where lots of amazing live performance is happening all the time.

BPH test radical new approaches to producing live arts, supporting creative talent, developing a local arts workforce, and partnering with communities across Bradford to reimagine the city as a thriving hub for performance.
