We receive a number of requests from Leeds schools, colleges and universities for support to deliver a range of activities to young people around career development. Leeds City Council, Employment & Skills are currently pulling together a programme which:

  • supports business people to be able to engage with schools and colleges
  • raises aspirations of our young people in the city and ensure that teachers, students and their parents and carers have an awareness of the labour market within Leeds
  • supports students to have an understanding of available pathways once they leave full time education

Please get in touch if you are interested in registering to volunteer your time and support our work in schools and further education around career development. We can share with you our business engagement proforma which lists some of the type of activities which have been most requested by schools and colleges, these include activities such as mentoring, career talks, interview practice and employability support. By completing the proforma you are not committing to anything, we will send regular updates of opportunities available and you will be able to select which ones you would like to be involved in.

Please note many of the opportunities are in-person and will be in a Leeds school, college or university. Some are virtual opportunities.
