Phoenix Dance Theatre is currently looking to appoint a new Chair of its Trustees.
The perfect candidate will have the vision, ambition and influence to support the Company in realising its artistic vision at the start of an important new era for the organisation as the Company begins celebratory preparations for its 40th year.

Phoenix Dance Theatre is the UK’s longest standing contemporary dance company outside London. Celebrated for its exciting productions and world class dancers, the Company embarks on national and international tours annually and is regularly invited to perform at global cultural events. The Company is renowned for inspiring the next generation of dance talent across the UK through award-winning education work. Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Access & Education department delivers over 1000 workshops each year reaching up to 6,500 people with the aim to empower, engage and inspire through exceptional dance provision. Focused on three key strands: training the next generation of contemporary dancers, children and young people and the hard to reach, our Access & Education team are committed to changing lives through dance. Our provisions range from regular weekly classes as part of our Saturday School and Illuminate Dance programmes, prevocational training in the Youth Academies based in Leeds and Gateshead - to bespoke school’s packages working on cross-curricular or performance led projects.

Initial informal interviews between 20th and 24th May with the Artistic Director, Executive Director and at least one Trustee.
Formal interview with members of the Board 4th June 2019.
