Workshop photoNorthern Lights PR has launched a new series of workshops to help business leaders understand the nuances of social media and then use it strategically to target and win new customers.

In the first workshop in Harrogate earlier this month more than 20 businesses joined an intensive and interactive session on using Twitter and Google+ to promote their offer. As an added bonus, all those who took part also receive follow-up support to help fine tune their strategy.

Following the success of the first workshop, which has already generated demand for more, Northern Lights has created a series of workshops that will help businesses with everything from getting to the top of Google and online reputation management to presentation skills and media interview techniques.

Most importantly, the workshops will help businesses to link all of their new skills together to work more efficiently and effectively and promote their offer to a far wider audience.

Northern Lights communications director Ben Pindar says: “We already deliver in-house workshops with a range of major clients, but hadn’t offered these popular sessions for individuals. That has now changed and it means anyone can now access our expert insights in a cost-effective and accessible way.

“Customers now expect instant responses and insights into what a company offers and businesses must embrace social media to ensure they can manage their brand effectively and, most importantly, then use it to win new business.

“We work extensively to help businesses develop solid communication strategies and promote their business across every media platform. These workshops will ensure everyone can now access a massive global marketplace.”

The next series of workshops for the second half of 2014 will be staged at Northern Ballet in the centre of Leeds from 9.30am – 12.30 and are open for bookings. They are:

  • Monday, September 22 – The power of LinkedIn – Demonstrating that LinkedIn is the most powerful business search engine tool in the world, this workshop helps businesses and organisations to understand its full potential and provides them with the skills to use it to identify key targets and then build lucrative new relationships.
  • Tuesday, October 14 – Twitter & Google+ – Twitter has already demonstrated its value as a business tool and Google+ is rapidly emerging as one of the most important social media platforms. This workshop will take people through the basics of these platforms, enable people to discuss good and bad practises and, most importantly, provide attendees with a clear strategy on how to use them to benefit their own business.
  • Thursday, November 20 – Online reputation management – Unfortunately many organisations will have fallen foul of negative comments or publicity online and quite often they are malicious. This workshop will help delegates to understand how they can overcome the negative content online, respond and embrace any criticism and develop a strategy for controlling what content appears on page one of Google.

The workshops cost £65 and places at the event are limited. To book a place, email sandy@northernlightspr.com or call 01423 562400.
